What to check before choosing
A free event can still cost a bus fare. A one-hour group can take two hours of your evening. The calculation adds session time to the complete return journey, and visit fees to transport costs. It compares these totals with the limits you entered.
What the three results mean
- Fits your entered limits: the totals are within your limits and all three joining checks are confirmed. Ask about booking and the next date before going.
- More to check: at least one number or joining detail is missing. The tool never treats an unknown cost as free.
- Does not fit yet: a known time or cost already exceeds your limit, or you marked a joining requirement “No”. Look at the stated reason; a different session or route might change it.

| Write down | Check with the listing or organiser |
|---|---|
| Activity + next session | Does it happen again? Is the next date confirmed? How do newcomers book? |
| Session + return journey | Include waiting, transfers and the trip home. Check the last transport connection. |
| Fee + materials + transport | Ask about trial fees, compulsory membership and cancellation terms. “From” prices may not cover your visit. |
| Language + access | Ask about the needs that matter to you, such as slower conversation, step-free entry or a quieter room. |
| One next action | Confirm a missing detail, book a suitable visit or replace the option. |
A question to send the organiser
Hi, I would like to join [activity] on [date]. Is it open to newcomers? Could you confirm the total first-visit cost, the finish time and whether I need to book? I also wanted to check [language or access question].
