Accounts and private account data

The community application uses Google Sign-In and Firebase. When you sign in, Kindred receives your Google account identifier, display name, email address and profile image if available. Your email address is stored in a private account record and is not displayed to other members.

Community profiles

You may create an adult community profile containing a display name, optional profile photo, city, country, introduction, interests, languages, availability and visibility choice. Profile photos are resized in your browser before they are stored with the profile. Signed-in members can view active profiles, including their photos. Do not include an exact address, phone number, workplace, identity documents, medical information or information about children.

Connections, messages, voice messages, calls, blocks and reports

Kindred stores connection requests and their status. Private messaging is available only after the recipient accepts a request. Text and voice messages are stored with the private conversation and are intended to be visible only to the connected members who can access that conversation. Voice recording requires browser permission to use the microphone. Blocks are used to hide profiles and prevent new messages. Reports include the selected reason, details, the reporting and reported account identifiers, status and submission time; reports are visible to the reporter and authorized moderators.

Video-call invitations create a private room through the third-party Jitsi Meet service. Kindred stores the room link and basic call status in the conversation so the participants can join or respond. The actual video and audio call is handled by Jitsi Meet under its own privacy terms; Kindred does not store the call video stream in Firestore.

Favorites, matching preferences and friendship progress

You may save favorites, choose friendship and communication preferences, propose public meeting plans, and record whether you met or called again, remain in contact, or found a match useful. These settings and check-ins may be stored with your account or connection record and used to organize the Community experience and improve your future Kindred recommendations. Private check-in answers are not intended to be shown to the other member unless the feature explicitly describes a shared result. You can change eligible profile and preference information in the Community interface.

Public planning tools and guide search

The friendship planner, activity comparison, Berlin collection and guide search work without a Kindred account. Your form details, completion ticks and search terms are not sent to the Kindred community database. By default they stay in the open page. If you choose “Save on this device”, the planner stores its displayed plan, completion ticks, invitation drafts and calendar fields in this browser’s localStorage. The Berlin shortlist saves only public activity identifiers. These optional saves remain until you use the relevant “Delete saved” button or clear site data; they do not sync between devices. Saving again replaces the previous saved copy. Avoid saving private details on a shared device.

Shared shortlist links and links from the Berlin collection to the comparison and planner include public activity identifiers in the URL. These may appear in browser history and hosting logs; invitation details are not included in those links. You can copy, print or download results, including calendar files. Those copies are under your control and are not removed by deleting a saved plan. Importing a file into another calendar is subject to that provider’s terms. Listing links open the organiser’s website only when you choose to open them.

The first-visit feedback form prepares a draft locally. Nothing is sent until you send the email. If sent, Kindred receives the visit details, any language and coming-alone answers, tip, your email address and your publication preference. We use this to review feedback, make corrections and, only with your optional permission, publish a tip without your name. You can withdraw publication permission or request deletion by emailing nadiiahonda34@gmail.com.

Optional Berlin pilot

The Berlin collection offers a separate, optional 30-day product test. It starts only after you tick its agreement box and press “Start optional pilot”. Without this choice, no pilot counters are saved. It records Berlin calendar days used and daily counts of selected public activity IDs, organiser-link clicks, comparison openings, planner-link clicks and calendar download starts. These counters are stored only in this browser under kindred-berlin-pilot-v1; no pilot data is automatically transmitted. They do not measure attendance, calendar imports or all website visitors.

Pilot recording expires 30 days after you start. Expired data is removed the next time the collection reads it. Use “Stop pilot and delete counters” to withdraw and remove it earlier; this does not delete your separately saved shortlist or plan. Your optional written pilot feedback stays in the open page and is not saved with the counters. You can review and download your report or prepare a private email draft. Nothing is emailed until you send it yourself. If sent, Kindred receives the report, any feedback you include and your email address, to improve the collection. Sending a pilot report does not give permission to publish it. To request deletion of feedback already sent, email nadiiahonda34@gmail.com. Deleting browser counters does not delete your own downloaded copies or a report you have already sent.

Daily, Social Dice and friendship preferences

Social Dice and the preferences comparison use fixed choices on the open page; they do not create a community profile or send the selections to the Kindred database. Kindred Daily saves a total and dated completion records, including the fixed title of the marked step, in this browser when you mark a step. These records do not sync between devices. You can undo today’s mark or remove all local records by clearing this site’s browser data. Avoid marking private activity on a shared device if you do not want another user of that browser to see the history. Copying or sharing a result is a separate action you choose; a sharing service receives the selected text only when you complete that action.

Browser storage

Kindred may use localStorage to remember interface and privacy choices. This information remains on your device until you clear the site data in your browser.

Hosting and technical logs

The website is hosted by GitHub Pages, and application data is processed by Google Firebase. These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, device or browser details and request logs under their own privacy terms.

Advertising and consent

Kindred has applied for Google AdSense. Advertising requests remain paused while the site is being prepared for review. Google’s code loads on the homepage and this privacy page to deliver the consent message configured for this site. Reading the guides and using the public tools does not require accepting advertising.

When its code loads, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details and store a record of your consent choices. You can accept, decline or manage the purposes offered in Google’s message. These choices are handled by Google’s consent platform, not by a separate Kindred acceptance button. A link to this policy is not advertising consent. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy. If advertising is enabled later, Google may also process advertising-event information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud.

Advertising is not placed inside profiles, private messages, connection screens, reporting tools or the developing forum. Kindred does not currently use a separate third-party analytics product on the editorial site.

Your choices and contact

You can hide or edit your community profile in the application. Requests to access, correct or delete account data can be sent privately to nadiiahonda34@gmail.com or through the Contact page. Browser choices can be removed by clearing site data.

Children

Kindred Community is intended only for people aged 18 or older. Do not create profiles for children or place children’s personal information in a profile, message or report.
